Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank), sliced into strips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)

For the Rice:

  • 1 cup uncooked jasmine or basmati rice
  • 2 1/4 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 tbsp butter

Optional Garnishes:

  • Chopped parsley or green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Pat steak dry, season with salt and pepper, and slice into thin strips.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower heat to medium. Add butter to skillet, then stir in minced garlic. Cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, and chili flakes. Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Stir in uncooked rice, coating it in the sauce. Add broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 15–18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Stir in remaining butter, return steak to skillet, and toss to combine. Warm through for 2–3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with green onions, parsley, or sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
