Ingredients
For the Steak:
- 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank), sliced into strips
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
For the Rice:
- 1 cup uncooked jasmine or basmati rice
- 2 1/4 cups beef broth or water
- 1 tbsp butter
Optional Garnishes:
- Chopped parsley or green onions
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Pat steak dry, season with salt and pepper, and slice into thin strips.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Lower heat to medium. Add butter to skillet, then stir in minced garlic. Cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, and chili flakes. Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Stir in uncooked rice, coating it in the sauce. Add broth and bring to a boil.
- Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 15–18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in remaining butter, return steak to skillet, and toss to combine. Warm through for 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with green onions, parsley, or sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
