Ingredients

Scale

2 cups grated cassava

1 cup coconut milk

1/2 cup evaporated milk

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup condensed milk

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup condensed milk (topping)

1 egg yolk (topping)

1 tablespoon sugar (topping)

Instructions

1. Prepare a steamer and bring water to a gentle boil. Grease or line an 8×8-inch heatproof pan.

2. Drain cassava thoroughly to remove excess moisture.

3. In a bowl, mix coconut milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt.

4. Add cassava and mix until evenly combined.

5. Pour mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

6. Steam for 40–50 minutes until set.

7. Mix topping ingredients until smooth.

8. Pour topping over the cake and steam for another 10–15 minutes.

9. Let the cake cool completely before slicing.

10. Slice and serve warm or chilled.

Notes

Make sure cassava is well drained to avoid soggy texture.

Cover the steamer lid with cloth to prevent water droplets from dripping.

Allow the cake to cool fully before slicing for clean cuts.
