This easy recipe works wonderfully for dinner ideas, meal prep, potlucks, and family gatherings while delivering all the classic flavors of traditional chicken cordon bleu in a much simpler form.

Ingredients

Scale

3 cups cooked shredded chicken

2 cups diced ham

12 ounces rotini pasta

2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 cup crushed buttery crackers

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a large casserole dish.

2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.

4. Add the cooked chicken, diced ham, cooked pasta, Swiss cheese, and mozzarella cheese to the sauce mixture.

5. Stir everything together until evenly coated and fully combined.

6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread evenly.

7. In a separate bowl, combine crushed crackers, melted butter, and Parmesan cheese.

8. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the casserole.

9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until hot, bubbly, and golden brown on top.

10. Remove from the oven and allow the casserole to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

11. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for the creamiest texture and best melting results.

Do not overcook the pasta before baking since it will continue cooking in the oven.

Allow the casserole to rest before serving so the sauce thickens properly and the casserole slices more cleanly.
