1 box white or yellow cake mix (prepared as directed)
1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
Additional fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare cake mix as directed. Bake in a 9×13-inch pan.
- Let cake cool slightly, then poke holes all over with a wooden spoon handle.
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, then stir in cold water.
- Pour gelatin mixture evenly over the cake and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Spread whipped topping over the chilled cake and sprinkle with diced strawberries.
- Garnish with additional fresh strawberries and serve chilled.
