Ingredients

Scale

1 box yellow cake mix

3 large eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup milk

2 packages instant vanilla pudding mix

4 cups cold milk

4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 box vanilla wafers

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

16 ounces whipped topping

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven according to the cake mix package directions and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and milk until smooth.

3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake until golden and fully cooked.

4. Allow the cake to cool completely before adding the layers.

5. In a bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with cold milk until thick.

6. Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.

7. Fold part of the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.

8. Spread vanilla pudding over the cooled cake.

9. Add an even layer of sliced bananas.

10. Arrange vanilla wafers over the banana layer.

11. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the wafers.

12. Cover the top with the remaining whipped topping.

13. Decorate with extra vanilla wafers and banana slices if desired.

14. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Use ripe but firm bananas for the best sweetness and texture.

Let the cake cool completely before layering so the pudding and topping stay thick and creamy.

Chill overnight for the cleanest slices and best flavor.
