Description

This Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp is a quick and flavorful dish, combining zesty lemon, rich garlic, and a hint of spice. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish is ready in under 15 minutes and can be served with rice, pasta, or as a delicious appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tbsp olive oil (or butter for a richer taste)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar for slight sweetness)

Juice of 1 lemon (plus extra wedges for serving)

1 tbsp soy sauce (optional for extra umami flavor)

1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for extra crunch)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Pat shrimp dry with a paper towel. Season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. Heat the Oil and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil (or butter). Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.

  3. Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.

  4. Add the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and stir in soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), and fresh lemon juice. Toss to coat and let cook for another 1-2 minutes.

  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley and sesame seeds (if using). Serve immediately with rice, pasta, or grilled vegetables.
