Ingredients

Scale

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon lime juice

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Salt and black pepper to taste

8 small flour or corn tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup shredded cheese

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced

1/2 cup diced tomatoes or pico de gallo

1 avocado, sliced or diced

Lime wedges for garnish

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Sour cream, chipotle mayo, or crema (optional)

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, paprika, cumin, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Add shrimp and coat well. Marinate for 15–30 minutes.

2. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and lightly oil it.

3. Thread shrimp on skewers or place directly on grill. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until opaque and slightly charred.

4. Warm tortillas on the grill or a skillet for 30 seconds per side, then wrap in a towel to keep warm.

5. Assemble tacos: layer lettuce, grilled shrimp, red onion, tomatoes, avocado, cheese, and optional sauces.

6. Garnish with lime juice and chopped cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice and don’t skip the marination—it transforms the flavor.

Always pat shrimp dry before marinating for best texture and seasoning adherence.

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
