With a mix of creamy cheese, smoky bacon, and spicy jalapeños, they’re the ultimate finger food for gatherings or late-night cravings. Ingredients

Scale

113g cream cheese, softened

120g sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

2 jalapeños, finely diced

4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

2 green onions, chopped

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

2 cups vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, bacon, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

2. Roll the mixture into small balls and place on a parchment-lined tray. Chill for at least 30 minutes.

3. Set up breading stations: one bowl with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko.

4. Roll each chilled ball in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Optional: double dip for extra crunch.

5. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry balls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.

6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot. Garnish with chopped green onions and extra bacon if desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat in egg and breadcrumbs.

To reduce heat, remove all seeds from jalapeños or use pickled ones.

Always chill before frying to help cheese balls hold their shape.
