  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 thick slices of French or Italian bread
  • Garlic butter (made by mixing softened butter with minced garlic and parsley)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Bread:
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread garlic butter on each slice of bread and arrange them on a baking sheet.
    • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and toasted. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:
    • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
    • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet in a single layer.
    • Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp butter and the white wine (or chicken broth). Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
    • Stir in the lemon juice, red pepper flakes (if using), and the remaining butter. Mix until smooth.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce.
    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and stir gently.
    • Divide the shrimp and sauce into bowls and serve with the warm garlic bread on the side. Enjoy!
