Ingredients
- 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or shells)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Optional Add-Ins:
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup sautéed mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the pasta in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Sauté the shrimp for about 2 minutes per side until just pink. Remove from heat.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter, whisk in the flour, and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream. Simmer and thicken for 3–5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, shrimp, and sauce. Mix well and transfer to the prepared baking dish.
