Description

Fluffy, golden, and incredibly soft—these Quick Jumbo Dinner Rolls are the perfect solution when you need homemade bread in a hurry. Perfect as a quick breakfast option, a side for easy dinner ideas, or even as a healthy snack alternative when stuffed with veggies or protein. This easy recipe uses pantry staples and a single rise, making it a go-to food idea for weeknights or holidays alike. Whether you’re baking for a family gathering or meal prepping ahead, this roll recipe delivers irresistible flavor and texture every time.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup warm whole milk (105–110°F)

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

1 large egg, room temperature

1 teaspoon salt

3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Whisk until fully combined.

3. Add 3 1/2 cups of flour. Mix with dough hook or spoon. Add more flour if needed.

4. Knead for 6–8 minutes in mixer or 10 minutes by hand until smooth and slightly tacky.

5. Place dough in greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes until doubled.

6. Punch down dough and divide into 9–12 portions. Shape each into smooth balls.

7. Place in greased 9×13-inch pan. Let rise for 20–30 minutes until puffy.

8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown.

9. Brush tops with melted butter. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure milk is warm—not hot—to activate the yeast properly.

Tuck the edges of the dough under when shaping to get smooth, evenly baked tops.

Brushing with butter not only adds flavor but gives a beautiful golden finish.
