- 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 12 slider rolls (such as Hawaiian rolls)
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: Red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Freeze steak for 20–30 minutes to firm up, then slice thinly.
- Slice the green bell pepper and onion thinly.
- Cook veggies: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and peppers until tender (5–7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- Cook steak: Add remaining oil, sear steak quickly over medium-high heat, season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire if using.
- Combine steak with veggies and remove from heat.
- Prepare rolls: Slice horizontally without separating. Place bottom half in a 9×13 baking dish.
- Layer: Add half the cheese, the steak-veggie mix, then the remaining cheese. Top with the upper half of the rolls.
- Brush tops with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly, slice, and serve hot!
