Pecan Pie Bark

  • Author: Sally Thompson
  • Total Time: 52 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 servings 1x

Description

This Pecan Pie Bark is a simple, irresistible treat that combines all the flavors of classic pecan pie in a crisp, caramelized form. With buttery caramel, crunchy pecans, and a crispy base, it’s perfect for the holidays, gifting, or as a quick dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves (or chopped pecans)
  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring constantly. Once the mixture starts to bubble, let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the crackers, spreading it with a spatula to cover all of them.
  5. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the caramel layer, gently pressing them into the mixture.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and golden brown. Keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.
  7. Remove the bark from the oven and let it cool completely. For faster cooling, place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until set.
  8. Once cooled and firm, break the bark into pieces and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled bark before breaking it into pieces.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Swap pecans for walnuts, almonds, or a mix of nuts for variety.
