Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, letting it hang slightly over the sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisk until thick and pale.

3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined—do not overmix.

4. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan evenly.

5. In a small bowl, stir together the peanut butter and powdered sugar. Warm slightly if too thick.

6. Spoon dollops of the peanut butter mixture on top of the brownie batter. Swirl gently with a toothpick or knife tip to create a marbled effect.

7. Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out and slicing into squares.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for smoother blending and better texture.

Don’t over-swirl the peanut butter—gentle motion creates the best marbled look.

A pinch of flaky sea salt on top before baking enhances flavor beautifully.
