Ingredients

Scale

1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

4 cups chicken broth

8 ounces fettuccine or linguine

¾ cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Season the chicken pieces with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

2. Heat a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil and sear the chicken until golden and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same pot, reduce heat to medium and add butter, minced garlic, and honey. Stir until butter is melted and bubbling. Scrape up any browned bits for flavor.

4. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add pasta directly into the pot, stirring to separate. Cook uncovered until pasta is tender and most of the broth is absorbed, about 10–12 minutes.

5. Return the cooked chicken to the pot. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Let it simmer for 5–6 minutes to thicken.

6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and combined.

7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

8. Serve hot with sides or enjoy on its own!

Notes

Be sure to stir the pasta frequently while cooking in the broth to avoid sticking or uneven cooking.

If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of broth or cream to loosen it while reheating.

For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduce the butter by one tablespoon.
