Ingredients
1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak
8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red chili flakes
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup reserved pasta water
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
Optional: sun-dried tomatoes or cherry tomatoes
Instructions
1. Let steak come to room temperature for 20–30 minutes. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak for 3–4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove and rest.
3. In the same skillet, cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Alternatively, boil it in a separate pot and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.
4. Reduce heat, add butter to skillet. Sauté garlic and chili flakes for 1–2 minutes.
5. Stir in soy sauce and honey to deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits.
6. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened. Add reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
7. Add pasta to sauce, toss well, and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
8. Slice rested steak against the grain. Add on top or mix into pasta.
9. Optionally add sun-dried or cherry tomatoes.
10. Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme and serve hot.
Notes
Letting the steak rest before slicing keeps it juicy and flavorful.
Cooking pasta in the same pan as the steak base enhances the overall flavor of the sauce.
For perfect sauce texture, avoid using pre-shredded Parmesan and keep cream on a gentle simmer.
