Ingredients
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 cup cooked sausage, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add diced chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes until browned. Add sausage slices and cook for another 2–3 minutes. Remove both from the pan and set aside.
- Pour chicken broth into the same skillet, scraping up any brown bits.
- Stir in ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add pasta to the broth, cover, and cook on medium-low heat for 12–14 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, lower the heat and stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Return chicken and sausage to the pan and mix well.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot!
