Ingredients

Scale

12 slices brioche bread, cut into cubes

6 ounces deli ham, sliced

6 ounces deli turkey, sliced

1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

6 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons powdered sugar, for topping

1 tablespoon butter, for greasing

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional: maple syrup for serving

Instructions

1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.

2. Spread half the brioche cubes into the dish to form the bottom layer.

3. Layer the ham evenly, then turkey, followed by Swiss cheese.

4. Dot spoonfuls of cream cheese throughout the layer.

5. Add the remaining bread cubes on top and press gently.

6. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.

7. Pour the custard evenly over the entire dish.

8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

9. Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove casserole from fridge.

10. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake another 20–25 minutes until golden and set.

11. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

12. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup, if desired.

Notes

Use slightly stale brioche for better texture and custard absorption.

Let the casserole sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before baking for even cooking.

For a golden, cheesy top, sprinkle a bit of shredded Swiss or Gruyère before the final bake.
