Ingredients
For the Pasta:
- 1 lb spaghetti
- Salted water
For the Meat Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 small onion, chopped (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Cheese Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- Garlic powder and salt to taste
For the Topping:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- Fresh parsley or basil (optional)
- Extra Parmesan (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook spaghetti in salted water until just shy of al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil. Add ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until meat is browned. Drain fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, Parmesan, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish. Layer half of the spaghetti on the bottom.
- Spread cheese mixture over pasta.
- Top with remaining spaghetti, then the meat sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Add extra Parmesan or herbs if desired.
