Ingredients
- 12 oz bow tie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or hot, casings removed if using links)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Reserved pasta water (about 1/2 cup)
Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bow tie pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).

Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

Pour in crushed tomatoes and add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Add the cooked bow tie pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
