Description

A moist, rich, and comforting banana bread loaded with gooey chocolate chips. Perfect for using up overripe bananas and makes an ideal treat for breakfast, snack, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 overripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until mostly smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
