Whether you’re looking for quick dinner ideas, cozy food ideas, or a crowd-pleasing baked pasta, this recipe delivers bold flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz ziti pasta

1 lb ground beef

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated

1 small onion chopped

3 cloves garlic minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the ziti until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chopped onion until soft, then add garlic and sauté briefly.

3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

4. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10–15 minutes.

5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the Parmesan cheese until smooth.

6. Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, mixing until well coated.

7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.

8. Layer half the pasta mixture, add ricotta mixture, and sprinkle mozzarella. Repeat layers and finish with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.

9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden top if desired.

10. Let rest for 5–10 minutes, garnish with basil, and serve warm.

Notes

Use al dente pasta to prevent a mushy texture after baking.

Let the baked ziti rest before serving so the layers hold together.

Freshly shredded cheese melts better and gives a smoother texture.
