Description

Looking for a sweet holiday treat that’s fast, festive, and impossible to resist? This Irresistible Christmas Toffee Bark is your new favorite go-to! A delicious blend of buttery toffee layered with rich melted chocolate and topped with crunchy nuts—it’s a holiday staple made for cookie trays, edible gifts, and festive snacking. Whether you’re hunting for easy dessert ideas, homemade candy gifts, or quick Christmas snacks, this easy recipe delivers with just a few pantry staples and under 30 minutes of work.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

1 cup chopped toasted almonds, pecans, or walnuts

Optional: flaky sea salt, crushed candy canes, mini chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and set aside.

2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and salt until dissolved.

3. Attach a candy thermometer and boil the mixture, stirring gently, until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).

4. Remove from heat immediately and pour onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread evenly with an offset spatula.

5. Sprinkle chocolate over hot toffee and allow it to sit for 2–3 minutes, then spread until smooth.

6. Sprinkle nuts and any optional toppings over melted chocolate while it’s still soft.

7. Let the bark cool completely. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Use a candy thermometer to make sure you hit exactly 300°F—accuracy is key to perfect toffee.

Toasted nuts add extra depth and flavor—don’t skip this step for maximum crunch and taste.

For extra shine and snap, use high-quality chocolate or temper it before spreading.
