- 1 pre-baked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter and bittersweet chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the bowl and stir until well combined.
- Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the edges are set but the center still jiggles slightly.
- Let the pie cool for at least 10-15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For extra gooey texture, slightly underbake and let it set as it cools.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 3 months.
