Perfect for both kids and adults, and totally customizable for your dietary preferences!

Ingredients

Scale

2 slices whole grain or brioche bread

1 ripe banana, thinly sliced

23 slices mozzarella or mild cheddar cheese

12 teaspoons honey

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened

Pinch sea salt (optional)

Instructions

1. Slice the banana into thin, even rounds and set aside. Prepare your cheese and butter.

2. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer cheese, banana slices, drizzle of honey, cinnamon, and salt if using.

4. Close the sandwich with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.

5. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and place the sandwich inside.

6. Grill for 2–3 minutes on each side, pressing with a spatula until golden brown and cheese is melted.

7. Remove, let sit for 1 minute, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Use medium-low heat to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.

Ripe bananas offer the best sweetness and texture—avoid underripe ones.

Let the sandwich rest a minute after cooking for cleaner slicing and better flavor.
