- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 3 cups diced potatoes (peeled or unpeeled, fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth.
- Layer the diced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the cooked beef evenly over the potatoes.
- Pour the sour cream mixture over the top and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
