  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Optional: breadcrumbs or panko for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in an ovenproof skillet. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Add shrimp and cook 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Lower heat, melt butter in the same skillet. Add cream and milk. Simmer 3-4 minutes.
  5. Whisk in Parmesan and mozzarella until melted and smooth. Stir in red pepper flakes and lemon juice.
  6. Return shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs if using.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then broil for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
