Instructions
-
Season the Shrimp: In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt and pepper. Set aside.
-
Sear the Sausage: Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and the sliced sausage. Cook for 4–5 minutes until browned and slightly crisp. Remove the sausage and set aside.
-
Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
-
Caramelize the Onion & Garlic: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet, then sauté the onion for 3–4 minutes until golden. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Cook the Cabbage: Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 8–10 minutes until cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
-
Combine Everything: Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet. Toss to combine and heat through. Adjust seasoning as needed. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar, if using.
-
Finish & Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve immediately!
