Ingredients

Scale

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Trim any excess fat from the steak and cut into evenly sized bite-sized cubes. Pat dry and lightly season with salt and pepper.

2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar. Set aside.

3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat.

4. Add steak in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if needed.

5. Once all steak is seared, return to the pan and pour in the firecracker sauce. Stir to coat.

6. Simmer for 1–2 minutes. For a thicker glaze, add cornstarch slurry (1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water) and stir until thickened.

7. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Let the skillet heat fully before searing to get the perfect crust on your steak bites.

Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to match your preferred spice level.

Serve immediately for best texture and flavor—these are best hot off the stove.
