Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup sour cream
1/3 cup red and green nonpareil sprinkles
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (for glaze)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
5. Mix in sour cream and milk until just combined.
6. Slowly mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Do not overmix.
7. Gently fold in the sprinkles.
8. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top.
9. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
10. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
11. Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream or milk until smooth to make glaze.
12. Drizzle glaze over cooled loaf and top with more sprinkles. Let set before slicing.
Notes
Always use room temperature ingredients for even mixing and baking.
Fold in sprinkles at the end to avoid bleeding colors.
Let the loaf cool completely before glazing to keep it neat and glossy.
