Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
225 g cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons instant espresso powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
2. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into equal squares or circles, scoring a border inside each piece
3. Mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, espresso powder, and vanilla until smooth
4. Toss apple slices with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice
5. Spread the cream cheese mixture inside the scored pastry borders
6. Arrange apple slices neatly on top of the filling
7. Whisk the egg with water and brush the pastry edges lightly
8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until puffed and golden brown
9. Cool slightly before serving
