1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

15 ounces ricotta cheese

1 large egg

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

9 oven-ready lasagna noodles

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Drain fat.

2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, and salt. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.

3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and parsley until smooth.

4. In a 9×13 baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer 3 lasagna noodles, sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers twice.

5. Finish with remaining meat sauce and top with mozzarella and Parmesan.

6. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.

7. Uncover and bake another 15–20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.

8. Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
