Description

This Easy Honey Chipotle Salmon recipe is a delicious combination of sweet and spicy flavors. With a quick marinade and simple cooking process, you’ll have a tender, flaky salmon dish on the table in no time. Whether grilled or baked, this dish delivers maximum flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 Tablespoons (71g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (85g) honey
  • 12 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground chipotle chili pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 individual salmon fillets

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, minced garlic, chipotle chili pepper, black pepper, and salt until combined.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a resealable plastic bag, baking dish, or container. Pour half of the marinade over the salmon, seal, and shake gently to coat. Reserve the remaining marinade for later. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes or up to 8 hours.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat or preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C).
    • For Grilling: Grill the salmon skin-side down on foil or a cedar plank for about 15 minutes (or 10 minutes per inch of thickness), until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
    • For Baking: Place the salmon fillets on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  4. Brush the remaining marinade over the cooked salmon for extra flavor. Serve immediately.
  5. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chipotle chili pepper to suit your spice preference.
  • For the best flavor, allow the salmon to marinate for at least 1 hour if you have the time.
  • Leftover salmon is great in salads, wraps, or reheated for a quick meal the next day.
