Ingredients
4 slices grilled chicken breast
4 slices deli ham
4 slices Swiss cheese
2 pieces crusty ciabatta or baguette, halved
4 leaves green leaf lettuce
4 slices ripe tomato
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (or honey mustard)
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
Instructions
1. Slice grilled chicken breast, tomatoes, and wash/dry the lettuce. Cut your bread lengthwise.
2. Spread mustard on the cut sides of the bread.
3. Layer ingredients: cheese first, then ham, chicken, tomato, and lettuce.
4. Brush the outer bread sides with butter or oil.
5. Grill in a pan or press over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
6. Remove from heat, rest 1 minute, slice, and serve immediately.
Notes
Dry your lettuce and tomato thoroughly to prevent soggy bread.
Cheese should be placed directly next to the bread or meat for optimal melting.
Use thick, crusty bread to prevent the sandwich from falling apart when grilled.
