Description

This Dreamy No-Bake German Chocolate Pie is everything you love about the classic cake — rich chocolate, sweet coconut, and buttery pecans — packed into a silky, no-fuss pie. Perfect for anyone looking for a quick dessert, easy recipe, or make-ahead treat, this pie requires no oven and minimal effort. Whether you’re seeking holiday dessert ideas, easy food ideas for parties, or a chilled chocolate fix, this pie checks every box with its decadent layers and irresistible texture.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pre-made graham cracker, shortbread, or chocolate cookie crust

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

3 large egg yolks

4 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut

3/4 cup chopped pecans

1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/3 cup toasted coconut (for garnish)

1/4 cup whole pecans (for garnish)

Instructions

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, and butter. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens (about 10 minutes), then remove from heat.

2. Stir in vanilla extract, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans into the warm filling and mix thoroughly.

3. Spoon the filling into the prepared pie crust, smoothing it out evenly. Let it cool for 10–15 minutes.

4. Heat the heavy cream until it’s just about to boil. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 1 minute, then stir until glossy and smooth.

5. Pour ganache over the pie filling and spread evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

6. Before serving, garnish with toasted coconut flakes and whole pecans. Slice with a warm knife and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Let the filling cool slightly before adding ganache to keep layers distinct.

Use dark chocolate chips for a less sweet, more intense flavor.

Always toast coconut and pecans for best flavor and crunch.
