Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ lb penne pasta
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning (about 1 oz)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak pieces with salt and pepper until browned and just cooked through, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and let simmer for 5 minutes. Mix in ranch seasoning and adjust salt to taste.
  5. Add the mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce becomes creamy and smooth. Add a splash of pasta water if needed to thin the sauce.
  6. Toss in the cooked pasta, mixing well to coat. Return steak to skillet and stir everything together.
  7. Heat for another 2 minutes, then serve hot with fresh black pepper on top.
