Perfect for game days, family nights, or when you want a break from the usual dinner ideas.

Ingredients

Scale

4 oz cream cheese (softened)

2 green onions (finely chopped)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp black pepper

2 eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup milk or buttermilk

Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, cheddar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.

2. Chill the mixture for 15–20 minutes to firm up.

3. Scoop and shape into 1–1.5 inch balls. Freeze for 10–15 minutes.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.

5. Dip chilled cheese balls into batter to coat completely.

6. Heat oil to 350°F and fry poppers in small batches for 3–4 minutes or until golden.

7. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

8. Serve hot with dips or garnished with extra green onions.

Notes

Always chill the filling before shaping for best results.

Make sure your batter is not too thin or it won’t coat well.

Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to keep them crispy.
