Ingredients

Scale

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup cold buttermilk

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup lump crab meat, cooked

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 egg, beaten (optional for brushing)

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix lump crab meat, cream cheese, parsley, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir gently and set aside.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.

3. Add cubed cold butter and work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

4. Pour in the buttermilk and stir in shredded cheddar cheese. Mix just until a soft dough forms.

5. Take a scoop of dough, flatten slightly, and place a spoonful of crab filling in the center. Fold dough over and seal tightly.

6. Place each stuffed biscuit on a parchment-lined baking sheet, seam-side down.

7. Brush tops with beaten egg if desired. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.

8. Melt butter with garlic and brush over hot biscuits right after baking. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

9. Let cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.

10. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat as needed.

Notes

Use cold butter and buttermilk for light, fluffy biscuit texture.

Don’t overwork the dough—mix gently for the best rise.

You can freeze unbaked biscuits and bake from frozen for a quick treat later.
