Ingredients

Scale

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 6 oz Crab Meat (fresh or imitation)
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 pack of Wonton Wrappers (about 2025 wrappers)
  • Water (for sealing the wrappers)
  • Oil for Frying (vegetable or peanut oil)
  • Optional: Chopped chives or cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and crab meat. Stir in the chopped green onions, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Prepare the Wonton Wrappers: Lay the wonton wrappers flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture into the center of each wrapper.
  3. Seal the Wontons: Moisten the edges of each wrapper with water and fold into a triangle or pouch shape. Pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  4. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the Crab Rangoon: Carefully fry the wontons in small batches for about 3-4 minutes, until golden and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve: Serve hot, garnished with chopped chives or cilantro if desired. Pair with sweet-and-sour sauce, soy sauce, or any dipping sauce of your choice.
