Ingredients

Scale

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons olive oil

6 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 tablespoon cowboy seasoning blend

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lemon

1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley or chives, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Optional: pasta, rice, or crusty bread for serving

Instructions

1. Pat shrimp dry and toss with cowboy seasoning, salt, and pepper.

2. Heat cast iron skillet on medium; melt 2 tablespoons butter with olive oil.

3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté until fragrant and lightly golden.

4. Add shrimp in a single layer; cook 2 minutes per side until opaque.

5. Pour in wine or broth; deglaze the pan and scrape up browned bits.

6. Add lemon zest and juice; stir.

7. Stir in remaining 2 tablespoons butter; melt and coat shrimp.

8. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Notes

Use fresh lemon and garlic for the brightest flavor.

Don’t overcook the shrimp—pull them as soon as they’re opaque.

For extra sauce, double the butter, garlic, and lemon juice amounts.
