  • 8 oz (226g) high-quality dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa), finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Optional Flavors:

  • 12 tsp liqueur (Kahlua, Baileys, etc.)
  • 1/2 tsp espresso powder or flavored extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Coating Options:

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the chocolate and place in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat cream in a saucepan until just simmering.
  3. Pour cream over chocolate. Let sit for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add butter and vanilla. Stir gently until smooth.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.
  6. Scoop small portions and roll into balls.
  7. Coat each truffle in your preferred topping.
  8. Chill again before serving if needed. Store in fridge.
