  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and milk, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until a thick dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  7. Place cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are set.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
