Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 1 1/2 cups diced ham
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup milk or half-and-half
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp butter (for sauce)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (for topping)
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add cream cheese and stir until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in milk or half-and-half. Add Dijon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer shredded chicken, then ham.
- Pour cream sauce evenly over the meat layers.
- Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese over the top.
- In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with 2 tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle over the cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden and bubbly. Broil for 2–3 minutes if extra crispiness is desired.
