Description

Cheesy Penne with Garlic Butter Ground Beef is a comforting, satisfying pasta dish featuring al dente penne tossed with a rich garlic butter sauce, savory ground beef, and plenty of melty cheese. It’s quick to make and perfect for a hearty weeknight dinner or a cozy weekend meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set pasta aside.

  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat if needed.

  4. Reduce heat to low and add cooked penne to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta in the garlic butter and beef mixture. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed for creaminess.

  5. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the pasta. Cover skillet and let sit for a few minutes until cheese is melted.

  6. Garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
