Ingredients
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (freshly grated)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta until al dente, about 10–12 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
-
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon.
-
Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
-
Pour in beef broth, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
-
Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low.
-
Gradually stir in shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
-
Season the sauce with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
-
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
