Ingredients

Scale

8 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or preferred type)

1 cup broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

5 oz Boursin cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor recommended)

½ cup heavy cream (or milk for a lighter option)

½ cup reserved pasta water (to adjust sauce consistency)

2 tbsp butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

½ tsp black pepper

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tsp lemon zest (optional, for brightness)

Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta and Broccoli:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    • Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions.

    • Two minutes before the pasta is done, add the broccoli to the boiling water.

    • Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

  2. Make the Sauce:

    • In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat.

    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

    • Reduce heat to low and stir in Boursin cheese until melted.

    • Pour in heavy cream and whisk until smooth.

    • Gradually add reserved pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.

    • Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

  3. Combine Everything:

    • Return cooked pasta and broccoli to the pot.

    • Toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well coated in the sauce.

    • Stir in Parmesan cheese if using and let it melt into the sauce.

  4. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

    • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and a sprinkle of lemon zest.

    • Serve immediately and enjoy!
