Biscuits and Gravy Casserole combines the rich, creamy goodness of homemade sausage gravy with tender, flaky biscuits in one easy-to-make dish. Perfect for feeding a crowd at brunch or treating the family to a hearty breakfast, this comforting casserole is make-ahead friendly and bakes up golden and delicious every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (about 8 biscuits), quartered
  • Optional: fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease if needed.

  3. Sprinkle flour over sausage and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  4. Gradually whisk in milk. Simmer, whisking frequently, until gravy thickens (about 5–7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Cut biscuit dough into quarters. Layer half the biscuit pieces in the baking dish.

  6. Pour sausage gravy evenly over biscuit layer.

  7. Top with remaining biscuit pieces, pressing them slightly into the gravy.

  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until biscuits are golden and casserole is bubbly.

  9. Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley or chives, if desired. Serve warm.
