Description

A decadent and delightfully crunchy toffee layered with silky chocolate and toasted nuts. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or anytime you crave a sweet indulgence. Simple to make, and absolutely irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped toasted almonds (or nuts of choice)
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan:
Line a 9×13-inch baking dish or rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.

  2. Melt Butter and Sugar:
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter melts and mixture combines.

  3. Cook to Hard Crack Stage:
Bring to a steady boil, continuing to stir. Cook until the mixture reaches 290°F to 300°F on a candy thermometer and turns deep golden brown (about 10-15 minutes).

  4. Add Vanilla and Pour:
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Quickly pour the toffee onto the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  5. Add Chocolate:
After 1-2 minutes, sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee. Let sit 2 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.

  6. Top with Nuts:
Sprinkle chopped toasted nuts over the chocolate. Add flaky sea salt if desired.

  7. Cool and Break:
Allow toffee to cool completely (refrigerate for 30-45 minutes for quicker results). Break into pieces and enjoy!
